7 typical faults of hydraulic cone crusher, collected for future use

Compared with more traditional crushers such as jaw crushers and impact crushers, hydraulic cone crushers have a much more complex structure, more precise coordination, and higher processing requirements. At the same time, because of its hydraulic system and lubrication system It's also complicated. Once a failure occurs, it will need to be shut down for repairs, which will affect production.


The following are 7 typical types of hydraulic cone crusher failures so that you can quickly find the cause and solve it when you encounter problems.

1. Adjustment ring beat

 Adjustment ring jump means that during the crushing operation of the multi-cylinder crusher, the part above the adjustment ring jumps abnormally and continuously hits the frame. There are two main reasons for this:

 

①Overload. The powder in the feed is too much, wet, and too viscous. It blocks the crushing cavity and cannot be discharged normally, resulting in overload. The discharge port is adjusted too small and is not suitable for the current hardness and size of the material, resulting in overload.

②The release cylinder pressure is insufficient. According to Newton's third law, the pressure of the release cylinder actually determines the maximum crushing force of the crusher. When the pressure of the release cylinder is insufficient, the maximum crushing force decreases, and the continuous occurrence of ring jumps is actually due to abnormal factors such as iron overload or overload protection. Keeps happening. 

 

2. Eccentric bushing/moving cone bushing ablation 

Eccentric sleeve ablation is a common and serious fault in multi-cylinder cone crushers. The eccentric sleeve is a direct contact component that drives the movable cone to perform the pendulum crushing motion. As long as the crusher is working, the eccentric sleeve will be in contact with the movable cone bushing. They rub intensely, so only adequate lubrication can prevent them from ablating. Therefore, when this fault occurs, there must be a problem with the lubrication. It may be a leakage of lubricating oil, a blockage of the lubrication pipeline, or insufficient lubricating oil pressure.

3. Fixed cone is loose 

The loosening of the fixed cone will greatly affect the crushing effect, and if allowed to develop, it will greatly damage the crusher and may even be directly scrapped. The reasons for the loosening of the fixed cone are as follows:

 ① The matching threads of the adjusting ring and the fixed cone are worn, causing them to not engage and lock normally;

②The crusher performs crushing operations when the locking cylinder pressure is insufficient;

③The lining plate of the moving cone or the fixed cone is too thick, so that the thread engagement between the fixed cone and the adjusting ring is insufficient when the ore discharge port is the same.

④The discharge opening is too large, so that the threads of the fixed cone and the adjusting ring are not fully engaged.

 

4. Transmission sleeve ablation 

The drive shaft bushing is the sliding bearing of the drive shaft. It withstands the high-speed and high-intensity rotational friction of the drive shaft at around 800 RPM. If the lubrication is not in place, a huge amount of heat will be accumulated in a short period of time, resulting in bushing ablation failure. The cause is basically insufficient lubrication, lubricating oil leakage or the transmission shaft lubricating oil passage is clogged.

 

5. Material particles contaminate the lubrication system 

Many parts of the multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher that need lubrication are made of copper alloy and are relatively soft in texture. At the same time, they are very important, and the cleanliness of the lubricating oil needs to be guaranteed. Therefore, the crusher has relatively high requirements for sealing. Under normal circumstances, external dust will not enter the crusher. Possible reasons include: transmission shaft box blower failure, lubrication system breather failure, oil storage tank cover seal broken, transmission shaft or moving cone seal ring damage, etc.

6. Lubricating oil leakage 

The lubrication system can be said to be the lifeline to ensure the long-term stable operation of the multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher. Once the lubricating oil is insufficient, it will cause a series of crusher failures with serious consequences, and lubricating oil leakage is a very common failure in the actual operation of the crusher. , the reasons are as follows: 

① The lubrication pipe of the crusher is damaged by material erosion due to long-term bending or improper protection, resulting in lubricating oil leakage;

② The lubrication pipe interfaces on the crusher are loose due to collision or vibration;

③The T-shaped U-shaped sealing ring inside the crusher is damaged, the O-ring sealing of the transmission part fails, or the sealing of the lubrication station fails.

 

7. Excessive vibration

Excessive vibration of the crusher will affect the stability and safety of the crushing work table, especially the steel structure work table. At the same time, severe vibration will cause many connecting parts, transmission parts, and joint pipes to loosen, thus causing other failures. The causes of excessive vibration are:

①The counterweight or guard plate is worn and the rotation is unbalanced;

②The tooth root clearance of the large bevel gear and the transmission pinion is incorrect, resulting in improper gear meshing;

③The transmission shaft is bent or the transmission shaft speed is too high;

④The foundation of the crusher is unbalanced and the load is unbalanced.

In addition to paying attention to the maintenance of cone crushers during production to reduce the failure rate, we should also pay more attention when purchasing equipment and choose manufacturers with guaranteed equipment quality.
